A bit about me

Hi everyone! I’m Laura - an artist based in North London with a background is in textile design. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2020 and specialised in embroidery and textile wellness. My practice centres on empowerment and self-expression. I’m passionate about sensory experiences and how crafting—with an emphasis on colour and texture—can boost our well-being. My goal is to bring “process art” into a social setting, creating a welcoming space where people can craft, connect, and collaborate freely, without pressure or judgment.

With a focus on playfulness, self-expression and contemporary crafting techniques; we am to create a stress-free space where people feel comfortable to explore art while making meaningful connections.

By combining elements of expressive arts and sensory exploration, I aim to help shift the mindset around artistic perfection and instead, highlight the therapeutic benefits of “process art” and mindfulness.

🧵 Whacky & Playful Stitched Mixed Media Workshop ✂️🍷

Say goodbye to old-fashioned embroidery and hello to contemporary stitched mixed media! In this playful workshop, we’ll combine recycled materials with beadwork, allowing you to craft something unique over time.

And what’s better than a little creativity with a drink in hand?
🍸 Enjoy a glass of wine or a refreshing beverage while you work, making it the perfect blend of fun, creativity, and relaxation.

The best part? You’re encouraged to bring your own items to embellish—whether it’s a tote, an old t-shirt, or even a headband! This is all about tactile textiles and embracing the beauty of play and experimentation.

  • This was my first experience of an art workshop and it exceeded my expectations! Laura is so friendly and makes you feel completely at ease whilst creating. She explained the concepts really well so I felt comfortable enough to create my own piece.

    Jess

  • Most workshops focus on the end product and not the process, so it was really nice to just enjoy the art and have an outcome demonstrating that - it takes off the pressure of creating something perfect too!

    Amy

  • I have only done sip and paint so I like that this workshop gives some direction but mostly gives you free reign to be creative. I really appreciate getting to experiment first before working on the canvas

    Vy

  • Laura was able to explain us the concept in a very easy didactic way, giving the instructions when needed as well as space to work in our own art individually. It was lovely, would 10/10 recommend!

    Richard

  • Great host, fun & cathartic activities, delicious snacks, chatty welcoming group… overall a very positive start to a sunny weekend!

    Emma

  • The environment cultivated felt inclusive, uplifting and refreshing. The experience was one I feel thankful to have shared with friends. Laura was welcoming and encouraged creative flow and experimentation under her guide of how to use various mediums.

    Alice

  • A safe and relaxed space to explore art materials whilst meeting new people. A really cool and comfy vibe for a Saturday morning, and so enjoyable!

    Emily

  • The chance to be creative in a way that I’m not stressing about making something pretty but enjoying just making and chatting with lovely people!

    Max
